STROKE/HEMIPLEGIA

STROKE/HEMIPLEGIA- this happens when the brain is deprived of blood (which carries nutrients and oxygen) either by blockage with an embolus( Ischemic stroke) or break of the blood vessels with resultant bleeding into the brain tissue( Hemorrhagic stroke) The resultant effect on the side of the body the affected part of the brain controls depends on the type length and extent of blood supply deprivation.Common symptoms include, facial assymetry, blurred vision, slurred speech or total inability to make speech, weakness or paralysis of the muscles of one side of the body, loss of consciousness to mention a few.
